Don’t you forget about me

I want to be remembered for my art

For my infectious smile

For my word tricks and clever remarks.

I want to be remembered for my secret fragility

For the freckles when the sunshine kissed my skin

For my unwavering loyalty.

I want to be remembered for my blushing shyness

For my dramatic disposition

For my motherly kindness.

I want to be remembered for my open heart

For my tear stained shoulders

For my unwillingness to part.

Instead, I am afraid, I will be remembered as a fool

For being too soft most of the time and too sensitive some of the time

For being hard work and bad at pool

Remembered for messy hair and too many trinkets

For doing things just short of perfect

For wiggling in bed and stealing the blankets.
